The Konkani classic Abgath Kelo was originally sung by the legendary duo Lorna and Chris Perry.

The Goan band Bad Blood picked this one to give it a new flavour and a power packed sound. 

The band mentions on their YouTube channel: 
"We have just released our new video song recorded in 2017 and featured in our debut album 'Tomorows Yesterday'. The song is ' Abgat Kelo' a tribute to the legendary duo Ms. Lorna & Mr. Chris Perry. Hope you like it" 

Of course we like it. This cover sounds more like a rock anthem! 

A konkani classic, a punch of rock and pulsating enery, all rolled into one! 

Cheers to the the band and the actors too. Stunning cinematography, with a mix of black & white visuals that perfectly gel with the lyrics.

The band members of Walk off the Earth claim that "the band is obsessed with making killer music in all its forms." Scroll down and check out their killer cover of Eye of the Tiger. 

The band covered Eye of the Tiger on their porch with a ukulele, a tin whistle, guitars, drums, and the keys. Hold on to your breath as you hear them singing this '80s classic in reggae/ska style with a dash of indie pop. 

The cover was released on the band's YouTube channel and other social platforms in May 2021. This one deserves more than a million shares for sure. It's one of the best covers of Eye of the Tiger that we've heard thus far. While many bands have attempted to cover this classic in hard rock style, Walk off the Earth gives this classic a touch of their own, using a tin whistle and a ukulele. Listen, enjoy, share, and celebrate music!!!

About the Band:
Formed in 2006, Walk off the Earth has covered a diverse genre of music. They also boast of a string of originals. The band's motto is "Realise Every Victory Outright', which is also the title of one of their albums, R.E.V.O., released in 2013. 

With a track record of being one of Canada's most popular and favourite bands, Walk off the Earth bagged several Canadian Radio Music Awards in 2014. The band also won the "Group of the Year" Juno Award in 2016. The last we heard was that in 2020 the band was nominated for the 49th Juno Awards in the "Group of the Year' category.

The Original:

Eye of the Tiger was released in 1982 by the band Survivor. It was the theme song of the film Rocky III. Since then, it has become a sports anthem and has been covered by many bands.

A tribute to Tina Turner by the band A26

Today is Tina Turner's birthday!!! The lady who paved the way for women rockers has been an inspiration to many artists over the years and she has always been one of our favourites. 

While we were scanning the web for new cover songs to add to our playlist we narrowed down on Tina Turner cover songs and guess what we found??? A26, a band par excellence that covers timeless classics time and again. A26 leaves nothing to chance as they cover 'Proud Mary' and 'The Best' with utmost class and finesse that you can possibly expect. 

A26 is known to be one of the finest live acts in Goa. The band performs unremittingly for long hours and travels across the globe incessantly. The seven members are known for their professionalism, fun culture and an engaging on-stage presence. Here is the band all decked up with their guitars, keyboards and percussions. The lead vocalist Chrystal Farell has a stunning voice and emulates Tina Turner with utmost class and style as she renders 'Proud Mary.'

The band of seven experienced members covers music across various genres including timeless classics, pop, reggae, classic rock, thus making it one of the most sought after bands for various events. Creedence Clearwater Revival was the band that originally recorded 'Proud Mary' in the late '60s.  

Tina Turner released her version of 'Proud Mary' in 1971 along with Ike Turner. The grammy award winning song which starts nice and slow,  hits high energy levels  towards the end. 

Bonnie Tyler originally recorded 'The Best' in 1988.

Tina Turner covered the song in 1989 which became a huge hit. It became one of Tina's signature songs.

Lady in Cement

This is the coolest thing we've heard during the lockdown. The instrumental cover of Hugo Montenegro's Lady in Cement by the ska band The Fanculos is upbeat and punchy. This highly energetic, bouncy and spirited band is all set to take ska and reggae to new heights. They revive this old tune in ska style.
