The Bachelor Boy turns 80 today

October 14, 2020

From tunes such as  Bachelor Boy to Living Doll and other hits like Evergreen Tree and Lucky Lips, Sir Cliff Richard has given his fans a musical treat for the last six decades.

Sir Cliff Richard discovered his music talent back in the 50’s when his father gifted him a guitar. Born and brought up in Lucknow, he has a close connection with India and we have a close connection with his music. For those of us who have grown up in the 70’s and 80’s, Cliff Richard’s music was a part of our childhood. We recall those good old days when music casettes and casette players were popular. Cliff Richard’s music was the best of the lot with many of his music cassettes in our music collection.

As he turns 80 today, Sir Cliff Richard is like the Evergreen Tree, his voice is like The Young Ones and he is our favourite Bachelor Boy. Kudos to Sir Cliff Richard for six decades of a successful music career.

Remembering Elvis

January 1, 2020

January is the birth anniversary month of the legendary Elvis Presley.

'Elvis' the name itself brings to mind Elvis' charisma, his passion for music and his talent as a singer, performer, actor. Elvis loved the stage surrounded by fans who adored him and with his wholesome image he won many more fans than any other artist.

Elvis' rise to stardom in the early sixties, his waning popularity in the late sixties, his comeback in the 70's and the world of fans that loved him, sums up Elvis' life as the King.

This month we remember Elvis and his tremendous contribution to music, every tune that he sang and his glorious journey as a singer and performer.

Here are three of  Elvis' tunes. His versatility in rendering songs in different styles is what set Elvis apart from the others.
'You are always on my mind' shows the true heart that he had.
'Take my hand precious Lord' shows his spiritual side.
'Jailhouse Rock' shows the adventurous and hail hearty spirit of the King.

Elvis was and still is the true King.
